Question : Expansion of the Rights of Private Bodies in UTs

(a) whether the Government proposes to take steps for expansion of the rights of Private Bodies/Institutions in the Union Territories where Legislative Assemblies have not been constituted so as to strengthen the democratic system and let it run smoothly;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the number of Union Territories where such system is in place along with the details thereof; and

(d) the time by which such a system is likely to be introduced in the rest of the States?

(a) to (d): Rights and duties of private bodies/institutions are regulated as per provisions of Law. Proposals for expansion of rights of Private bodies/institutions for strengthening the democratic system can be considered on receipt of such proposals from the UT Administrations. Presently, there is no such proposal pending with MHA.
