(a) Madam, 20 Indian athletes participated in Rio Paralympics, 2016 out of
which 4 athletes secured medals in Paralympics, 2016. The details are as
follows:-

(d) & (e) For promotion of sports among physically disabled, this Ministry
has recognized various National Sports Federations (NSFs) such as
Paralympic Committee of India, All India Sports Council of the Deaf and
Special Olympics Bharat. All these NSFs are placed under ‘Priority’ category
so that they are eligible to avail maximum financial assistance under the
“Scheme of Assistance to NSFs”. The funds released to these NSFs in the
last 3 years and the current year is as follows:-

T-20 Cricket World Cup for Blind was hosted in India in 2017 for which
Govt. has sanctioned an amount of Rs.30.00 lakhs. India won the said World
Cup.
