(a) whether the Government propose to set up electronic telephone exchanges in Mangaldoi, Sipajhar, Tangla, Khampetia and Udalguri regions of Assam;

(a) & (b): Electronic telephone exchanges are already functioning at Mangaldoi, Sipajhar, Tangla, Kharupetia (there is no place named Khampetia in Assam) and Udalguri. Further, electronic exchnages are planned to be set up at Hatigarh during 2000-2001 and Sonua, Baharahampur & Mahlipara during 2001-2002.
