Question : PRODUCTION OF FERTILIZER PLANTS



(a) the details of fertilizer plants in public and private sectors in the country and their production capacity, plant/sector-wise;

(b) whether the supply/production of various fertilizers in the country is not adequate to meet the demand of farmers

(c) if so, the details thereof and the steps being taken by the Government to increase the production of fertilizers in the country

(d) whether the Government has received any proposal from Rajasthan for augmenting the production capacity of Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and the action taken/proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard ?

(a) : The details of fertilizer plant in Public, Cooperative and Private sectors in the country and production capacity plant-wise/sector-wise are at Annexe.

(b): The requirement, production, imports and availability of urea, DAP, MOP & NPK for last year is as given below:-

As can be seen to bridge the gap between requirement and production Imports are made.

(c ): Government has notified New Investment Policy NIP 2012, for attracting new investment revamp/ brownfield Greenfield projects for increasing the production of urea .

(d): Yes Madam, In response to notified to NIP 2012 the Department of Fertilizers has received an Ammonia Urea expansion project from Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd.

(e): The amendment to NIP 2012 is under consideration.
