Question : ASSISTANCE BY HUDCO TO KARNATAKA



(a) whether the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) has agreed to provide Rs.120 crore to the Government of Karnataka to construct its own buildings for police stations in the State;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the extent to which the State Government has utilised this HUDCO loan?

(a)to(c): Government of Karnataka has reportedly decided to avail loan assistance of Rs.124.00 crore from Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (HUDCO) for providing infrastructure facilities for police personnel in the State viz. development of Police Academy, Police Stations, Office Spaces, Wireless Stations etc. with allied facilities.

Proposals alongwith specific scheme for the above programme has not been received by HUDCO and, therefore, no loan has so far been sanctioned by HUDCO for the purpose.
