Question : CASE AGAINST RAILWAY CONTRATOR

(a) whether employees of the Railway Protection Force of Bhusawal Division of Central Railway has arrested and a case registered against a railway contractor;

(b) whether Burhanpur Railway Station witnessed incidents of arson, loot disruption in the rail services after the arrest of the said contractor.

(c) if so, whether the Government have taken any action against the persons involved in the incident of sabotage.

(d) whether the RPF employees arresting the said contractor have been transferred to RPSF thousands of kilometers away from Bhusawal Division.

(e) whether some of the Officers have been transferred despite having no relating with the aforesaid arrest; and

(f) If so, the reasons therefore?

(a) and (b) : Yes, Sir.

(c) : Yes, Sir.

(d) : Preliminary enquiry made in the incident revealed complicity of some RPF staff in commission of certain act that led to the situation of arson and rampage at Burhanpur on 29.9.1999. Nine RPF staff were found responsible and they were immediately transferred from Central Railway to RPSF to improve the prevailing situation at Burhanpur.

(e) and (f) : Although nine RPF staff were transferred immediately after the incident, in the subsequent enquiry it was revealed that three staff out of them were not responsible. Hence, their transfer orders to RPSF were cancelled and they were posted back to Central Railway.
