(a) whether the Government authorized Kendriya Bhandar to supply livery items and shoes at the approved rates;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the rates of livery and shoes have not been reviewed during the last ten years or new suppliers empanelled in Kendriya Bhandar;
(d) if so, the reasons therefor; and
(e) the steps taken to empanel more number of suppliers and to review the quantity and the prices of the items?

(a): Yes, Sir.
(b): Kendriya Bhandar is authorized by the Government to supply woolen serge, shoes etc. to common category of Groups `C` and `D` employees as part of the uniform at approved rates.
(c): Yes, Sir.
(d): The rates of livery and shoes have not been reviewed during the last ten years since supplies are received at prescribed rates and there is no demand for their revision. The empanelment of suppliers has not been reviewed by Kendriya Bhandar since the supply of liveries include value added services like taking measurement of the liveries and the rates are already competitive as other agencies have also been authorized for supply uniforms to Government departments.
