(a): ‘Rural Roads’ is a State subject and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) is a one-time special intervention to provide rural connectivity, by way of a single all-weather road, to the eligible unconnected habitations in the core network. Length of road works constructed in Uttar Pradesh under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) during the last three years and the current year are as under:

(b) & (c): Under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), roads are covered by a five year maintenance contract, to be entered along with the construction contract with the same contractor, as per the Standard Bidding Document (SBD). Maintenance funds to service the contract are budgeted by the State Government and placed at the disposal of State Rural Roads Development Agencies (SRRDA’s) in a separate maintenance fund account. On expiry of this 5-year post construction maintenance, the PMGSY roads are to be placed under Zonal Maintenance Contracts consisting of 5-year maintenance including renewal as per cycle.
(d) to (g): Annual fund allocation to the various States under PMGSY is based on the availability of unspent balance at the beginning of each financial year with the State and works in hand vis-à-vis execution capacity of State concerned within the overall Budgetary Allocation available with the Ministry, for the Scheme. The details of the funds released and the expenditure incurred during the last three years and the current year in Uttar Pradesh under PMGSY are given as under:
