(a) the status of the progress regarding works being done under Pradhan Mantri- Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and State Water Sanitation Mission (SWSM) in order to improve urban water supply system;

(b) the agency deployed for planning, execution, management, operation and maintenance under JJM and SWSM in the State of Chhattisgarh;

(c) the total number of villagers obtained employment in the said State under JJM; and

(d) the status of the progress of aforesaid mission in Korba Parliamentary Constituency of Chhattisgarh?

(a) and (b) Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, is implementing Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), in partnership with States to make provision of tap water supply to every rural household by 2024. The State Water and Sanitation Mission (SWSM) is a State level institution headed by Chief Secretary of the State, for successful implementation of JJM.
Urban water supply as a subject dealt by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA). As reported by MoHUA, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) was launched on 25thJune, 2015 in selected 500 cities and towns across the country which is focused, inter alia, on development of basic urban infrastructure in the AMRUT cities, such as water supply; sewerage and septage management; storm water drainage; green spaces and parks; and non-motorized urban transport.
One of the main objectives of the AMRUT is to ensure that every household has access to a tap with assured supply of water. Out of total approved plan size of Rs. 77,640 Crore under AMRUT, ?39,010 Crore (50%) has been allocated to water supply sector only. States/ Union Territories (UTs) have taken up 1,345 water supply projects amounting toRs. 42,206 Crore. Of these, 739 projects amounting to Rs. 11,511 Crore have been completed, 587 projects of Rs. 30,336 Crore are under implementation and 19 projects of Rs. 358 Crore are under tendering process. Overall, works of water supply projects amounting to Rs. 30,520 Crore (72%) have been physically completed.

Against the target to provide 139 lakh water tap connections to achieve universal tap connection coverage in 500 AMRUT cities, 114 lakh new water tap connections have been provided under AMRUT and in convergence with other schemes. In order to carry forward the objective of universal coverage of water supply from 500 cities to about 4,800 statutory towns, AMRUT 2.0 has been launched on 1st October, 2021.
As per the operational guidelines for the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission, State Government and its agencies like Public Health Engineering Department are responsible for planning and implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in their respective States, including Chhattisgarh.
