(a) Department of Telecom Services (DTS), the erstwhile DoT and MTNL offer the following Value Added Services
Internet Intelligent Network Service
(b) Details:
Internet : This service is available throughout the country except in Poonch & Kargil in Jammu&Kashmir and Andaman&Nicobar Islands. The Internet facilities are available through 85 Internet Nodes operated by DTS/MTNL. There are about 1.2 lakh subscribers connected to these Nodes.
Intelligent Network: Six services viz. Freephone (FPH), Premium Rate Service (PRM), Virtual Card Calling (VCC) now called India Telephone Card, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Universal Number (UN) and Televoting are approved for implementation in the Telecom Network of the Department. Presently FPH, PRM and India Telephone Card (formerly VCC) are offered to the subscribers of IN services by DTS/MTNL which are operational at 39 cities and another 47 stations are also proposed to have IN services progressively. MTNL provides VPN and Televoting besides the three services offered by DTS at Delhi and Mumbai.
