(a): While there is no indigenously developed Underground Coal Gasification technology, such technology is globally available for adoption in India to meet our future energy needs.
(b): Seven Coal block and Seven Lignite block have been identified in the country. The details are given below:-
Coal block
(1) Yellandu dip Side (Godavri Valley)
(2) Bandha (Main Basin Singrauli Cf), (UE), Madhya Pradesh
(3) Reonti West (Tatapani Ramkola Cf) (RE), Chhattisgarh
(4) Chainpa (Sohagpur Cf), (UE), Madhya Pradesh
(5) Pathora (Sohagpur Cf), (UE), Madhya Pradesh
(6) Maaiki North – Maiki – Merkhi (Sohagpur Cf), (UE), Madhya Pradesh
(7) Jogapur Sirsi (Wardha Valley), (RE), Maharastra
Lignite block
(1) Sindhari West (4 Sub blocks), Barmer, Rajasthan
(2) Chokla North, Barmer, Rajasthan
(3) Nimbalkot, Barmer, Rajasthan
(4) Nagurda, Barmer, Rajasthan
(5) Dungra – Tadkeshwar, Surat , Gujrat
(6) Dip Side of Valia & Rajpadi, Gujrat
(7) Raneri, Rajasthan
(c) & (d): No sir. No contract has been signed though a model contract document is being finalised as it is an area of priority for the Government.
