MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES AND PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS (SHRI HARISH RAWAT)

(a) to (c): Yes, Madam. Indian Council of Agricultural Research (lCAR), Institutes like Project Directorate for Farming System Research (PDFSR), Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI), Directorate of Maize Research (DMR) and Directorate of Wheat Research (DWR) etc. are working on development of sustainable and profitable multiple cropping systems and innovative production methodologies for the systems.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (lCAR), is continuously working on development of sustainable and profitable rice based multiple cropping systems for rice growing areas of the country. Preference for rice-based multiple cropping systems in different parts is based on location advantages that include ecology, land topography, soil type, and availability of water and marketing facilities. After a number of on-station and on- farm experiments, this institute recommends the following rice based multiple cropping systems for different ecologies i.e. Rainfed uplands, irrigated medium land, rainfed lowland

The state wise funds spent for multiple cropping system under development schemes in the country i.e National Food Security Mission, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana(RKVY) and Macro Management of Agriculture (MMA) for the last three years are given at Annexure- l, Annexure-II and Annexure-III, respectively.
