Question : MPLADS



(a) whether any proposal is under consideration of the Government to place Rs. 2 crore of MPLADS fund in the first week of every financial year at the disposal of the Collector;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government further propose to take expenditure statement of utilisation certificate from the Collector after every six months to facilitate speedy progress of the implementation of the MPLADS;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (e) No Sir. Funds under MPLADS are released to the Nodal Officers of the concerned MP on receipt of the Expenditure Statement showing unspent balance below Rs. 50 lakhs. In order to ensure that works under MPLADS do not suffer for want of funds, District Heads have been advised to sanction works under MPLADS to the full entitlement of the MPs without waiting for actual release of funds. They have also been advised to send expenditure report to the Ministry every month so as to enable the Ministry to release funds as per entitlement of the concerned M.P.
