(a) whether the Government has laid down any provisions in respect of maximum permissible
level of lead and other toxic substances in paints being manufactured and marketed in India
as per the norms in certain developed and developing countries;
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) whether cases of manufacturing and marketing of paints with high/more than
permissible level of lead and other toxic substances have been reported in the country;
(d) if so, the details of such cases which have come to the notice of the Government during
the last three years and the current years; and
(e) the action taken/proposed by the Government thereon?
