(a) As per information received from State Governments and Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics, 2019, list consisting of total number of gaushalas is annexed. In Uttar Pradesh there are 532 registered gaushalas.
(b) Many State Governments provide the Grants to the Gaushalas. However, the Animal Welfare Board of India provides grants-in-aid under the Scheme for Shelter House for looking after the animals. The objective of this scheme is to establish and maintain shelter houses for distressed animals in the country. Primary, Non-Governmental Organizations and Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCAs) are given grants for construction of boundary walls, shelter, water tank, drains, in-house Dispensary, medical equipment, contingencies etc for a maximum grant of Rs. 22.50 lakhs excluding 10% of contribution from Animal Welfare Organizations.
(c) The Central Government has no such information.
(d) Does not arise.
