Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS ( SHRI MANOJ SINHA )

(a) to (d): Dankuni-Furfura Shariff (20 Km) New Line has been sanctioned as a part of Liluah-Dankuni 3rd line project. An expenditure of Rs 38 crore has been incurred on this project upto March, 2014 and an outlay of Rs 5 crore has been provided in 2014-15. Out of a total of 227 acre land, 56 acre land has been acquired. Balance land could not be acquired due to land records not being up-to-date with State Govt, non-turning up of land losers for receiving compensation, pending court cases, etc. Earthwork had been taken up on the portion of the project where land was acquired but work had been stopped due to non-availability of land.

Time frame for completion of this project cannot be fixed till entire land is handed over by the State Govt.
