(a) Whether private players, NGOs and Corporate Houses are being allowed for repairing, upkeeping and maintenance of old monuments of the country; and

(b) if so, the details alongwith the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b):The National Culture Fund, set up by the Ministry of Culture by notification dated November 28, 1996 provides opportunity for private players, NGO`s and Corporate Houses to participate in the repair, upkeep and maintenance of old monuments in the country.

The National Culture Fund accepts institutions and individuals as partners of the Government in the management of the cultural scenario. It is an important initiative for forging public private partnership and mobilizing extra budgetary resources for culture.

Details of conservation / development works carried out under the auspices of the National Culture Fund are annexed.

4. The Taj Group of Hotels Rs. 45.00 lacs At Taj Mahal, Agra, chemical preservation of main gate has been done. Tourist facilitation is being developed at Fatehabad and Fatehpuri enclosures and conservation of portion of enclosure wall on the eastern side is in progress. Signages have been installed.
