(a) & (b): The State Government has been requested in August 2001 to indicate the time-frame within which infrastructural facilities required for establishment of a High Court Bench at Jalpaiguri would be completed to the satisfaction of the Calcutta High Court.They have also been advised to indic~te the names of districts proposed to
be included in the jurisdiction of the ~roposed Bench. The State Government has
also been requested to convey their agreement to bearing the entire expenditure
on the proposed to Bench. The response of the State Government has not been
received so far
Further, as the proposal involves Parliamentary legislation it is not feasible to indicate the time by which a final decision can be taken.
