Question : Demand of CBI Inquiry

(a) whether the demand for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry has been increasing in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the number of cases under investigation along with the recommended agencies;
(d) whether the Government has any comparative data with regard to the rate of conviction of cases investigated by CBI and other State police; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): No Sir. The number of cases [Regular cases (RCs) and Preliminary Enquiries (PEs)] registered by CBI during the last 3 three years i.e. 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 (upto 31.10.2019) are as under :-

(c): Out of the total 1481 number of cases presently investigated by CBI as on 31.10.2019, 347 cases are referred by Constitutional Courts and 119 cases are referred by the State Governments.

(d) & (e): The rate of conviction of CBI cases disposed of from trial during the last three years is as under :-
