(a) whether any funds have been allocated to Assam under the National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP) during the last three years and the current year;
(b) if so the details thereof;
(c) whether any monitoring has been done by the Union Government in context of proper utilisation of funds allocated for the said purpose; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): State-wise funds are not allocated under National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP). However, financial assistance is released on receipt of viable proposals from the State Governments, including Assam.. Financial assistance of Rs. 69.41 crore has been released to Assam under the NHDP during the last three years and the current year for overall development of handloom and welfare of weavers. Of this, an amount of Rs.51.35 crore has been utilized so far.
(c) & (d): Monitoring of sanctioned projects from time to time is done by the officers of both, Central & State Governments.
