Question : Vacancy of Ayurveda Doctors

(a) the number of sanctioned posts of Ayurveda doctors along with the number of Ayurveda Practioners in Primary Health Centres, category-wise and State/UT- wise,
(b) the number of vacancies of Ayurveda doctors across all categories in the country and the reasons for not filling these vacant posts along with measures taken by the Government to fill up these posts;
(c) the number of Ayurveda practitioners who received their qualification during the last five years, State/year-wise;
(d) whether the Union Government proposes to provide guidance to the State Governments for such appointments and provide financial assistance to the States/UTs in this regard;
(e) if so, the details thereof; and
(f) whether the Government is contemplating to re-run the Integrated Course in Ayurveda as well and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (e): As Public Health is a State subject, the administrative and personnel matters of Ayurveda doctors/practitioners qualified/recruited/engaged from time to time,number of sanctioned&vacant posts of Ayurveda doctors/practitionersand filling up of vacancies fall under the purview of respective State/UT Governments. However, the data regarding the number of registered Ayurveda practitioners, State/UT wise as per Ministry of Ayush’s Annual Statistical Publication - “AYUSH IN INDIA-2020” is furnished at Annexure-I.

(f) There is no such proposal to re-run the Integrated Course in Ayurveda.
