(a) whether it is a fact that Norway is assisting India in boosting solar power in the country;
(b) if so, whether Norway proposes to cover maximum villages under rural electrification with wind energy and if so, the details thereof;
(c) the status of rural electrification under solar system in Karnataka; and
(d) the action plan to exploit solar power potential in Karnataka?

(a): Norway had assisted for installing mini grids based on solar photovoltaic plants in 28 villages in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Jammu &Kashmir to provide power to the villages.
(b): No madam, there is no proposal received for rural electrification with the support of Norway.
(c): 30 villages and hamlets have been electrified under Remote Village Electrification (RVE) programme of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
(d): The Ministry provides Central Finance Assistance under various schemes and programme to exploit Solar Power in the country including Karnataka.
