Question : Allocation of Land for Airport Projects

(a) whether the Madhya Pradesh Government has allocated land to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for development of certain airports;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the development work has been completed at these airports and if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the Madhya Pradesh Government has demanded surplus land from AAI; and

(e) if so, the details thereof along with the reaction of AAI thereto?

(a) & (b): Yes, Madam. The State Govt. of Madhya Pradesh has allocated 330 acres of land at Bhopal Airport, 355.66 acres of land at Khajuraho Airport and 137.67 acres at Indore Airport. At Jabalpur Airport, the State Government has allocated 469 acres of land out of which 409 acres of land has been handed over to Airports Authority of India (AAI).

(c): The construction of new Integrated Terminal buildings and other development works such as extension and strengthening of runways, new apron, and other allied works have been completed at Bhopal, Indore and Khajuraho Airports.

(d) & (e): The Government of Madhya Pradesh has requested for additional land measuring 4.23 acres at Bhopal Airport. The transfer of land at Bhopal Airport is subject to signing of MoU by the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh for earlier leased land measuring 5.87 acres.
