Question : Relief for Crop Irrigaiton

(a) whether the Government has started any mission to provide relief to farmers for irrigation of crops;
(b) if so, the details thereof including financial assistance provided to each State under the said mission during the last five years, State-wise including Parbhani district of Maharashtra;
(c) the details of the achievements made there under, State-wise including in Parbhani district of Maharashtra; and
(d) whether the Government is contemplating to increase the irrigation facilities to the famers to increase agricultural production and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): The Government launched Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) in the year 2015-16 with an aim to enhance physical access of water on farm and expand cultivable area under assured irrigation, improve on farm water use efficiency, introduce sustainable water conservation practices etc. The details of components of PMKSY are as under:

? Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP) and HarKhetKoPani (HKKP): Implemented by Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.

The PMKSY-AIBP focuses on faster completion of ongoing Major and Medium Irrigation projects, prioritized during 2016-17, along with their Command Area Development & Water Management (CADWM) works. The State-wise Central Assistance released and Irrigation Potential created /Culturable Command Area coveredunder AIBP and CADWM is given at Annexure-I & II respectively.

Out of these prioritized projects, two projects viz., Lower Dudhna and Upper Pen Ganga under PMKSY-AIBP benefit Prabhani District of Maharashtra. One project, Lower Dudhna, has also been included in PMKSY-CADWM. The details of the funds sanctioned and additional irrigation potential/ CCA created under PMKSY-AIBP and CADWM in these projects are as under:

The schemes of Surface Minor Irrigation (SMI) and Repair, Renovation & Restoration (RRR) of Water Bodies are part of the HKKP. The state-wise details of Central Assistance released and potential achieved under SMI and RRR of Water Bodies schemes are given at Annexure-III.
? Watershed Development Component (WDC): Implemented by Department of Land Resources.

The WDC is principally for development of rainfed / degraded lands. The activities being undertaken through the watershed development projects inter alia include ridge area treatment, drainage line treatment, soil and moisture conservation, rain water harvesting, nursery raising, afforestation, horticulture, pasture development, livelihoods for assetless persons, etc. The state-wise details of Central Assistance released and Water Harvesting Structures (WHS) created /rejuvenated & Additional area brought under protective irrigation under the WDC is given at Annexure-IV.In Maharashtra,1024 projects including 26 projects in Parbhani district of Maharashtraare under WDC.
? Per Drop More Crop (PDMC):
The Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) is implementing Per Drop More Crop (PDMC) scheme. The PDMC was implemented as a component of PMKSY from the year 2015-16 to 2021-22 in the Country. During the year 2022-23, the PDMC is being implemented under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY). The PDMC focuses on enhancing water use efficiency at farm level through Micro Irrigation viz. Drip and Sprinkler irrigation systems.
State wise Central Assistance released and area covered under Micro Irrigation under the PDMC is given at Annexure-V.An area of 18,118.35 Ha.has been covered under Micro Irrigation in the Parbhani District of the State of Maharashtra.
