Question : Funds Allocation under RUSA

(a) the total number of Universities approved/established under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) since launch of the Scheme in the country and during the last three years and the current year, State/District-wise including Karnataka and West Bengal;

(b) the funds allocated under RUSA during the above-said period, State/District-wise;

(c) whether the Government has any plans/proposals to increase funding to higher educational institions (HEIs) established in West Bengal under the said Scheme;

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): Under the Scheme of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), a total number of 208 Universities have been approved for support under various components. The State/ District-wise details of the number of Universities including Karnataka and West Bengal, approved for support under various components of the scheme is available at https://www.education.gov.in/sites/upload_files/mhrd/files/upload_document/Universities_%20under_%20RUSA.pdf.
(b): A total amount of Rs. 14,704.81 crores, including State share has been approved for projects of States/UTs under various components of the scheme. The State/ District-wise details of total amount approved under various components is at https://www.education.gov.in/sites/upload_files/mhrd/files/upload_document/Funds_under_RUSA.pdf.
(c) & (d): RUSA funding depends on the proposals submitted by the State, appraisal by the Project Approval Board of RUSA, adherence to the guidelines of the scheme and efficiency in utilizing already sanctioned RUSA funds.
