(a) the number of new telephone exchanges installed in Kerala during the last two years, district-wise; and

(b) the number of telephone exchanges proposed to be installed during the year 2002-2003, district-wise?

(a) 179 new telephone exchanges have been installed during the last two years i.e. 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 in Kerala. District-wise details are given in the Annexure-I

(b) 50 telephone exchanges are proposed to be installed in Kerala during the years 2002- 2003 subject to the availability of suitable accommodation, power supply etc. The District-wise details are given in Annexure-II . Out of these 29 have been commissioned.
