STATEMENT REFFERED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (d) IN RESPECT OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. *206 FOR ANSWER ON 01.08.2016
(a): In order to ensure quality production, the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India encourages Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by organising awareness programmes, providing financial assistance for product certification as per National and International standards, implementation of Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme and acquiring certification on Zero Defect Zero Effect Maturity Model.
(b): The Ministry of MSME through National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) Limited is implementing “Performance and Credit Rating Scheme” for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) to provide a trusted third party opinion on the capabilities and creditworthiness of the MSEs so as to create awareness about the strengths and weakness of their existing operations. Recently, a new scheme namely Financial Support to MSMEs in Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) Certification has been approved in which the MSMEs will be assessed on ZED Maturity Model on 50 parameters which will inter alia strengthen / facilitate the Make in India initiative.
(c)&(d): Under the “Financial Support to MSMEs in ZED certification scheme,” wherein the MSMEs will be assessed on a Zero Defect Zero Effect maturity model which shall rate MSMEs in five levels i.e. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Platinum.
