(a) whether the Government proposes to upgrade/develop Surat Akashwani Bhawan;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the time by which Surat Akashwani Bhawan is likely to be upgraded;
(d) if not, the reasons therefor; and
(e) the steps taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (e) No, Sir. There is no scheme/proposal to upgrade/develop Surat Akashwani Bhawan
building. However, replacement of existing 6 kW FM transmitter by 10 kW FM transmitter as
part of 10th Plan carried over to 11th Plan has been approved with target for completion
in 2010-11.
