(a) whether the Government proposes to procure surveillance aircrafts for security of
the sea coast of the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the amount of funds proposed to be spent by the Government for this purpose; and
(d) the time by which these aircrafts are likely to be provided to the Indian Coast
Guard?

(a) Yes, Madam.
(b) & (c): A contract has been signed with M/s HAL in March, 2010 for procurement of
12 surveillance aircrafts fitted with state of the art sensors, at a total contract
cost of Rs.1102 Crore.
(d) Six aircraft have already been delivered to ICG and the remaining six are scheduled
for delivery by March, 2014.
