(a): State-wise export data is not available. However, major meat producing States for exports are Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal and Goa.
(b) & (c): Yes, Sir. Standards have been laid down under Export(Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1963 for export of meat and meat products. Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) operates various schemes under which financial assistance is provided to the exporters for purchase of reefer vans, implementation of international quality assurance systems, setting up of in house quality control laboratories, packaging development, market development and participation in international trade fairs, etc.
