Question : AMENDMENT IN LAND CEILING LAWS

(a) whether the Government are seriously contemplating to amend the Land Ceiling Laws;

(b) if so, whether the Union Government have invited suggestions in this regard from the State Governments;

(c) if so, the names of the States from where suggestions have been received so far;

(d) the major amendments likely to be made in the Land Ceiling Laws; and

(e) the time by which the said amendments are likely to be introduced?

(a): No, Sir. The Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act, 1976 which was enacted under Article 252 of the Constitution of India, has been repealed by the Government through the Urban Land (Ceiling & Regulation) Repeal Act, 1999.
