Question : Stoppage of Trains

(a) whether the Government has received representations for allowing stoppage for Parasuram Express (16649/ 16650) and Maveli Express (16603/16604) trains at Chirayinkil and Kadakkavur railway stations in Kerala;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the request has been examined and any decision has been taken;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) whether the Government will consider this long pending demand favourably and if so, the details in this regard?

(a) to (e) Yes, Sir. Representations including from the Hon’ble Member of Parliament have been received for provision of stoppage of 16649/16650 Mangaluru Central-Nagercoil Parasuram Express and 16603/16604 Mangaluru Central-Thiruvananthapuram Maveli Express at Chirayinkeezh and Kadakavur stations. The same have been examined but not found feasible for implementation, at present. However, provision of stoppages of trains is an ongoing process on Indian Railways subject to operational feasibility, commercial viability, etc.
