Question : Youth Development Programmes

(a) the details of programmes being implemented for promotion of youth
development in the country;
(b) whether funds are being provided to the States for encouragement and
development of youth and if so, the details of funds provided under these
heads to the States in the years 2014, 2015 and 2016; and
(c) whether the Government would provide more funds to the backward
States for development of youth?

(a) & (b): The Ministry is already implementing various programmes/
schemes for promotion of youth development in the country as under: -
i) Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS)
ii) National Service Scheme (NSS)
iii) Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD)
iv) National Youth Corps (NYC)
v) National Programme for Youth and Adolescent Development (NPYAD)
vi) International Cooperation
vii) Youth Hostel
viii) Assistance to Scouting and Guiding Organisations
ix) National Young Leaders Programme (NYLP)
Funds are allocated for the above schemes which are being
implemented for encouragement and development of youth in the country as
a whole. The details of scheme wise allocation under the various schemes/
programmes during each of the last three years is at Annexure.
(c) The programmes/schemes of this Ministry are being implemented for
encouragement and development of youth in the country as a whole for
which adequate funds are provided.
