(a) whether there is any scheme for modernization of various units of Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) particularly HMT Kalamassery Unit of Kerala;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether there is also any proposal to increase emoluments of employees working in HMT;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): The case of HMT Machine Tools Limited for revival, restructuring and modernization (which includes Kalamassery unit) has been recommended by the Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises (BRPSE) for consideration of Government.
(c) to (e): The issue of increase of emolument of employees can be taken up by the company only when its financial position improves.
