Question : ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES



(a) the funds allocated by the Union Government to Madhya Pradesh during the last three years under the Urban Development Schemes; and

(b) the details of amount spent in Gwalior district under various Urban Development Schemes alongwith achievements made during the said period?

(a): The following Schemes of Ministry of Urban Development are being implemented in Madhya Pradesh:-

(i) Integrated Development of Small and Medium Towns (IDSMT).

(ii) Accelerated Urban Water Supply Programme (AUWSP).

(iii) Solid Waste Management and Drainage in selected airfield towns (including Gwalior).

During the last three years, total funds amounting to Rs.1864.37 lakh, Rs.3568.23 lakh and Rs.603.58 lakh were released by Ministry of Urban Development to Government of Madhya Pradesh under IDSMT, AUWSP and Solid Waste Management & Drainage Scheme, respectively.

(b): No funds were released under IDSMT for any towns in Gwalior district during the last three years. Under AUWSP, water supply schemes for 3 towns in Gwalior district have been approved during the last 3 years as per details given below:-

The total Central assistance released during the last 3 years for the above mentioned schemes is Rs.97.015 lakh.

Under Solid Waste Management & Drainage Scheme in selected Airfield towns, funds amounting to Rs.603.58 lakh (first instalment) were released to Govt. of Madhya Pradesh on 12.1.2005 for implementing the approved project in Gwalior.
