Question : Schemes of Animal Husbandry

(a) the details of schemes related to animal husbandry being run in the rural areas; and

(b) whether a new scheme is going to be operated for animal husbandry in the rural areas in the future and if so, the details thereof?

(a) and (b) The Government is implementing various schemes for development of animal husbandry across the country including rural areas as under:

i. Rashtriya Gokul Mission
ii. National Programme for Dairy Development
iii. Dairy Processing and Infrastructure Development Fund
iv. Supporting Dairy Cooperatives and Farmer Producer Organizations engaged in dairy activities
v. National Livestock Mission
vi. Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund
vii. Livestock Health and Disease Control
viii. National Animal Disease Control Programme

So far, there is no plan to operate any new scheme for animal husbandry specific to rural areas. However, if any such plan approves by the Government in the future, it would be implemented across the country including rural areas.
