(a) the number of Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) which are providing internet banking facilities till date, State/UT-wise;
(b) whether the Government is aware that slow internet connectivity and frequent power failure also affects bank work and consumers; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and the corrective measures taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a)Based on the data received from the respective banks as on January 2016, by NABARD, the state-wise details of Regional Rural Banks providing Internet Banking Facility are as under:-

(b) & (c) Government is aware that slow internet connectivity and frequent power failure affects banks work and consumers. In this regard, 784 locations have been identified by the Government and classified as dark areas and about 4000 locations as grey areas, from the point of view of connectivity. Support is being extended by NABARD under Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF) to banks in these locations for setting up solar powered VSATs. These VSATs are for the Customer Service Points/Banking Correspondent Agents (CSPs/BCAs).
