(a): whether the Government propose to fix the rent of the Government accommodations in accordance with the prevailing market rent;

(b): if so, the details thereof;

(c): whether the Government also propose to hand over the construction, management and maintenance of the Government accommodations to the private sector in view of escalating cost of maintenance of these accommodations and other housing problems;

(d): if so, the details thereof;

(e): whether the use of non-conventional energy sources is likely to be promoted in the Government accommodations; and

(f): if so, the details thereof?

(b): Question does not arise in view of reply to (a) above.

(c): There is no such proposal under consideration.

(d): Does not arise in view of reply to (c) above.

(e)&(f): Use of non-conventional energy sources is being tried in some cases. Solar water heaters have already been provided in 19 bungalows and the same are being provided in another 20 bungalows.
