(a) whether the Government is planning to do any relaxation in entry restrictions to Laksha- dweep tourists;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the details of representations received from other parts of the country in this regard, State- wise?

(a) & (b): The Laccadive, Minicoy and Amindivi Islands (Laws) Regulation, 1965 governs the restrictions on the visit and residence of a person who is not a native of the Lakshadweep Islands for the protection of interests of Scheduled Tribe. The Lakshadweep Administration has requested the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs to amend the rules framed under said act to permit bonafide foreign tourists.
(c): No representations have been received from other parts of the country in this regard in the Ministry of Tourism.
