Question : FUNDS UNDER CRF



(a) whether the Government had allocated funds from the Central Road Fund for widening of National Highways (NHs) and roads in Uttar Pradesh;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government proposes four laning of NH/Roads from Itawa to Gwalior and widening the NH Roads in Bareilly and Varanasi divisions;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a)&(b) The funds under Central Road Fund (CRF) for development of State Roads are allocated only to the State as a whole and is not done road-wise. During the current financial year, Rs.149.77 crore has been allocated to the State of Uttar Pradesh.

(c)to(e) There is no proposal regarding four laning of NH-92 from Etawah to Gwalior. Four-laning works of NH-24 from Moradabad to Bareilly and Bareilly to Sitapur sections have already been awarded by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and are likely to start by January, 2011. Widening to two-lane with paved shoulder of NH-7, 29, 56, 74, 231 and 233 have been identified under National Highway Development Project (NHDP) Phase–IV in Bareilly and Varanasi Divisions of Uttar Pradesh.
