Question : Changes in UPSC Syllabus

(a) whether the Government proposes to change the syllabus of All India Civil Service Examination and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the Government proposes to change the existing age limit for applying for All India Civil Service Examination and if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government proposes to include new papers by replacing the existing papers for AICS Examination and if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the Government proposes to select meritorious candidates in AICS Examination by implementing the directions of Supreme Court and if so, the details thereof; and

(e) whether the Government proposes to implement the recommendations of administrative reforms commission in this regard and if so, the details thereof and the action taken thereon?

(a) to (e): The Union Public Service Commission has constituted an Expert Committee under chairmanship of Shri B. S. Baswan, vide Notice dated 12.8.2015 to comprehensively examine the various issues raised from time to time regarding the Civil Services Examination, with respect to eligibility, syllabus, scheme and pattern of examination. The Committee has been asked to submit its report within 06 months of its constitution.
