Question : MAINTENANCE GRANTS

(

(a) whether the Karnataka Government has requested the Union Government to provide two percent of export value of the goods exported from EPIP as a maintenance; (

(b) if so, the details thereof; (

(c) the period for which maintenance grant to Karnataka has not been released by the Union Government alongwith the reasons therefor; and (

(d) the time by which this grant likely to be released by the Union Government?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (SHRI DIGVIJAY SINGH)

(a ) to ( d ) : An amount of Rs. 81.00 lakhs had been released to the Government of Karnataka as maintenance grant for the years 1998 and 1999, on the basis of the proposals received from them. For release of the maintenance grant for the subsequent year, a proposal alongwith prescribed documents is awaited from the State Government.
