(a) & (b) There is no new drug delivery system, as such, has been developed by AIIMS, New Delhi, for cancer. A system called “Hyperthermic Intra-peritoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC)” which has been tried with limited success previously in major cancer centres in Europe and USA, has been standardized and implemented in the Department of Surgical Oncology, Dr.BRA-IRCH, AIIMS, New Delhi.
(c) The treatment has been implemented at AIIMS, New Delhi, since 2014. A total number of 90 patients were treated using HIPEC.
