Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE FOR TOURISM (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) (DR. MAHESH SHARMA)

(a) to (d): Yes, Madam. All the proposals are routed by the State/UT Governments which are prioritized during the Prioritization meetings.

The development and promotion of tourism is primarily the responsibility of the respective State Government/Union Territory (UT) Administration. The Ministry of Tourism (MOT) provides Central Financial Assistance (CFA) to various State Governments/Union Territory Administrations for various tourism projects in their respective areas which are prioritized every year in consultation with them. The State-wise details of projects including Bihar prioritized for the current financial year are given at Annexure.

Sanction of projects included in the list of prioritized projects is subject to submission of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) by the States, availability of funds, inter-se priority and adherence to the scheme guidelines.
