(a) & (b): Field offices of the Coal Controllerâs
Organisation set up for sampling and analysing of Coal by
deploying Coal India Limitedâs staff have been closed in
March, 2001. The Principal office of Coal Controller at
Kolkata and its branch office at Dhanbad are still
functioning.
(c) : The distribution of coal has been deregulated
w.e.f.1.1.2000. Hence, the coal producing companies are
distributing/selling coal as per their own policy keeping
in view the demand and availability of particular grade
of coal.
