PRESERVATION OF HERITAGE PAINTINGS


2081. SHRI SISIR KUMAR ADHIKARI:

Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state:
(a)
whether pre-historic heritage paintings and caves in the country are in peril state;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the details of these caves; and

(c) the action taken by the Government for preservation and protection of these caves and paintings?

(c) No Madam. Protected heritage caves and paintings of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) are in a good state of preservation. The essential conservation and scientific preservation work of these are attended regularly within the available resources.
