Question : Construction of Bypass in Jharkhand

(a) whether the Government sanctioned a plan for construction of Chianki-Rajwadih-Singrakala bypass on National Highway No. 75 in Daltonganj city under Palamu district of Jharkhand during the year 2013-14;

(b) if so, the details and the present status of the above project thereof;

(c) whether an amount of Rs. 40 crore had been allocated for construction of the said bypass and out of it a sum of Rs. 35 crore has also been deposited with the Deputy Commissioner, Palamu for acquisition of land required for the purpose;

(d) if so, the details thereof along with the present status of acquisition of land including the reasons for delay in acquisition of land and in completion of the project; and

(e) the steps taken/being taken by the Government to complete the project at the earliest?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (e) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NUMBER 380 FOR ANSWER ON 18.07.2019 ASKED BY SHRI VISHNU DAYAL RAM REGARDING CONSTRUCTION OF BYPASS IN JHARKHAND.

This Ministry is mainly responsible for development and maintenance of National Highways in the country. The project for strengthening/reconstruction of Chianki-Rajwadih-Panki road-Daltonganj- Bypass Road (NH-75) km 0.00 to 12.975 in Daltonganj City under Palamu District was sanctioned for an amount of Rs.76.52 crore in the year 2013-14 by Road Construction Department, Government of Jharkhand through State Plan. The work was awarded at a cost of Rs.37.61 crore on 08.10.2013. Up to date expenditure incurred on the project by the State Government is Rs. 46.26 crore including LA and utility shifting. Total project length is 12.975 km. Work has been completed in 6 km existing length. Remaining length of the road is Greenfield and the work in the remaining portion is held up for want of Land Acquisition by the State Government.
