(a) whether the Union Government has received any proposal from the State Government of Kerala regarding financial assistance under the Nirbhaya Fund for the safety of women; and
(b) if so, the details thereof and the time by which financial assistance is likely to be provided to Kerala?

(a): Yes, Madam. The State Govt. of Kerala had submitted a project named Nibhaya Keralam Surakshita Keralam.
(b): Ministry of Home Affairs has been sanctioned a total of Rs. 321.69 crore out of the Nirbhaya Fund to implement emergency response system to attend calls from women in distress and provide them immediate assistance. The Project is to be implemented in 114 identified cities. Out of these 114 cities, several cities of Kerala namely Thrissur, Thrissur rural, Kochi, Trivandrum Rural, Kozhikode, Kollam, Malappuram have been identified for implementation of the project. No separate proposal from any State/UT is required for implementation of this project.
