up for discussion with State Governments for possible
solutions;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has expressed the need to bring
the country’s higher education up to the international
standards; and
(d) if so, the measures proposed to be adopted for this
purpose?

Consultation with State Governments in regard to
various aspects of higher education, including on issues of
quality, is an ongoing process. University Grants
Commission and other regulatory bodies are empowered to
oversee standards of higher education.
