Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE FOR LABOUR & EMPLOYMENT (SHRI MUNI LALL)

(a) & (b): Yes Sir. This is true for such occupations where a large number of job-seekers are awaiting employment assistance through employment exchanges. This is essentially due to the gap between supply and demand.

(c) As per instructions, the employment exchanges are required to make submission in order of seniority of the candidates in the ratio of 1:20 in case of public sector vacancies notified to them. However, the State Directors have the discretion to raise this ratio in case the local conditions so demand.

(d) & (e) The employment exchanges only sponsor the candidates against the vacancies notified to them. They do not have any role in generating employment.
